Mission Statement
First Parish in Concord is an open, diverse, and inclusive Unitarian Universalist church that supports each person’s spiritual journey, as they strive to:
Go out into the world in peace,
Have courage,
Hold onto what is good.
Return to no person evil for evil.
Strengthen the fainthearted,
Support the weak,
Help the suffering,
Honor all beings.
These words, our benediction, come to life when we actively promote spiritual growth and nourishment through connecting, reflecting, praying, singing, listening, acting and giving.
The people of First Parish:
Connect through worship services, small group ministry, and community events. An important part of our community is our commitment to value our children’s spiritual development in religious education, social action projects, and music.
Reflect through child and adult religious education and in weekly services
Pray together in worship and in meditation
Sing in worship, in choirs, in concerts and shows
Listen to each other, to sermons, to their inner calling
Act to improve the world through social justice programs
Give within to sustain our community both spiritually and financially, and without to the larger community to bring love, peace, and justice to the world.
