Affinity Groups

Social groups open to all, that help us to connect and feel a part of the First Parish community. Groups include Bicycling, Birding, Bridge, Cooking, Jewish Awareness, Kayaking, Knitting (intergenerational), Mom & Toddlers Play Group, Movies, Restaurants, Photography, Spanish Discussion/Social, Theater, and Walking. Circle Suppers

Circle Suppers are potluck dinners of seven to nine people held at the homes of those willing to host.  They are a great opportunity to sample the cooking of your fellow First Parishioners as well as spend some quality time together.  Contact Jane Foley at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. First Parish Auction

This biannual fundraiser is also a "fun-raiser".

Children’s Holiday Crafts Workshop

This is a fun and creative afternoon of making holiday gifts for others. For children ages six and older who attend First Parish in Concord.

Christmas Concert and Tea

Enjoy a peaceful retreat from hectic holiday preparations by attending a concert of holiday music and a traditional elegant tea. This event is free and open to all First Parish folks and their friends.

Women’s Retreats

The First Parish Women’s Retreats are held on two consecutive weekends at the end of January, in a cozy old retreat house in Connecticut. Participants talk, listen, play (indoors and out), write, talk, sing, enjoy great food, talk some more, and create and deepen friendships within the community of First Parish. Spring Concert and Tea

Celebrate the arrival of springtime flowers and birds with us. Enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music and a lavish tea. This event is free and open to all First Parish folks and their friends.

Flea Market/Recycle Sale

This is a major fundraiser, at which the Women’s Parish Association (WPA) and various vendors sell their wares. Typical items include gently used furniture, antiques, household goods, jewelry and clean toys. Snacks and lunch are sold throughout the day. Donations are gratefully accepted at the church on Friday, March 30.

Maundy Thursday Chowder Supper

Participate in a Communion service in the Sanctuary, using the parish-owned, 18th-century silver Communion service. After the worship service, enjoy a fresh fish chowder supper in the Parish Hall. The service is at 6:30 pm, supper at 7:00 pm. Check the office for tickets.

Ferry Beach Retreat

Gather at Ferry Beach Camp and Conference Center in Saco, Maine for Memorial Day weekend, for a relaxed weekend on the beach. Campers stay in bedroom/dormitories or at the campgrounds, and meals are shared in the large communal dining room. Check in the office for current registration fees, which include 3 nights and 8 meals.

Covenant Groups

Covenant Groups provide an opportunity to gather in groups of 7 to 10 where you can speak more intimately to one another, talk about matters of ultimate importance, tell your stories and find your commonality. Through real and meaningful connection on an on-going basis, you can minister to each other in profound ways as your lives and thoughts unfold. Men’s Group

Meeting every Saturday from 7:30 - 9:00 am, the purpose of the Men’s Group is to foster a sense of belonging, acceptance and connection. The men meet weekly to share feelings, emotions and matters of the heart, both positive and negative (joys and concerns). Membership is open to all men of First Parish.

Women’s Parish Association

In addition to its fund raising activities, concerts and teas, the Women’s Parish Association (WPA) holds monthly luncheon meetings with programs that encompass a wide variety of activities: speakers, musicians, poetry readings and others. The Women’s Circle

The Women’s Circle of First Parish in Concord is an earth-centered sacred Goddess-honoring group of women who gather together to celebrate the Wheel of the Year in ritual and a shared understanding of the feminine divine in its many manifestations. The Circle follows the Lunar calendar meeting on New and Full moons and observes the solar cross-quarters including the Solstices and the Equinoxes.
