Concord Area Crop Walk
This annual walk, which takes place in October, raises funds for Church World Service to use for disaster relief, refugee assistance, and development projects around the world. Twenty five percent of the money raised stays in our local community and goes to seven area hunger relief organizations: Concord's Open Table, The Acton Community Supper, The Maynard Food Pantry, Maynard Open Table, Gaining Ground, Bedford's Community Table, and Sudbury's Community Food Pantry. Task: I would like one to two people to serve with Sara Ballard as co-recruiters for First Parish. This would primarily involve staffing a table at some of the coffee hours in late September and early October to distribute pledge forms for walkers and recruit sponsors, and helping to publicize the walk to the congregation.
Commitment: This is an annual event, but most of the work is done during a few weeks in the early fall. Ideally, I would like to have someone who could commit to at least a couple of years.
