This September we will be hosting a delegation of five adults and six youths. We expect them to arrive late Thursday 9/18 and go back on Monday 9/22.

Transylvanian Student Sponsorship Program
Since Ivan and Ursula Kristoffy sponsored the first student in 1996, our sponsorship program provides an opportunity to help a a designted high school students in the Berde Mózses Unitarian High School in Székelykeresztúr,
Romania. The minister of our partner church and the high school
principal identify incoming freshmen who need financial help in order
to attend school. Students who live more than a few kilometers away
often have to board, as the roads can be impassable in bad weather, and
many families can not afford the $360 per year fee for room and board.
Sponsors agree to pay this fee for 4 years. Students and sponsors are
encouraged to write each other at least twice a year. These
sponsor-student communications often result in close friendships, and
many sponsors have visited their students and their families, attended their graduations, their weddings, etc.

Youth Pilgrimages
Every other year since 2003, we have sent a delegation of youths with adult chaperones to Keresztúr to live and work with our friends there. Our next scheduled pilgrimage is planned for the summer of 2009.

Choir Pilgrimage - August 2007
Starting in 2002 we have also sent choir delegations, and plan to continue to do so, hopefully every four years. Our next choir pilgrimage is tentatively set for summer or fall of 2010 or 2012.
