The process for becoming a member of First Parish in Concord is fairly simple: you write your name in a membership book in the presence of one of the ministers or lay leaders. We do not require that you subscribe to a creed. When we become members, we covenant to walk with one another in faith, committing ourselves to deepen spiritually and to go out into the world to try and make a difference. Before you sign the book, we ask that you attend a one-night "Minister’s Orientation" to learn more about our present-day community and its history. Or that you attend a three session orientation program called "The New U." We expect our members to: Attend worship and be active in the life of the community. Give of your time and talents, finding the ministry to which you feel called. Make a generous pledge each year. We are a membership organization, not a charity. Our operating budget is just over $1 million and ¾ of that money comes from our members’ pledges. We do not charge dues, but do provide you with a "giving guide" so you can give according to your income. If you have questions about becoming a member, please contact Stephanie Chiha or Anne Fortier, co-chairs of our membership council or call the church office (978-369-9602) to make an appointment to meet with one of our ministers.
