Choir Pilgrimages

The First Parish Choir has made two wonderful pilgrimages to our partner church village in Transylvania. Most recently, in August 2007, the choir embarked on its second musical pilgimage. While the core of this traveling group was the First Parish Adult Choir, some non-singers traveled along.
The choir gave several concerts in Unitarian churches in various locations in Transylvania and in the Czech Republic. At the heart of our trip was a three-day visit to our partner church village of Székelykeresztúr. We sang at their Sunday morning service and at the Worldwide Unitarian Gathering in Szejke-fürdő. In addition to our time in Transylvania, we visited Budapest, Bratislava, and Prague.
For the details of the 2007 trip, you can view our Itinerary Document.
We have set up a Photo Gallery on the First Parish website where travelers have posted their 2007 Pilgrimage photos for general viewing. Participants in our 2002 Choir Pilgrimage have shared their photos here.
For anyone intending to travel to Transylvania, a bit of Hungarian training makes for a richer experience. We've posted some useful resources for learning Hungarian on this site.
