First Parish Haitian Relief Collection

The $6,000 raised from the collection last Sunday-when combined with the Social Action Grants award of $5,000-brings our total donation to date to $11,000.

The Denominational Affairs Committee would like your feedback on the Draft Statement of Conscience on Peacemaking. First Parish Theater Project

Mama: “Oh-So now it's life. Money is life. Once upon a time freedom used to be life-now it's money. I guess the world really do change . . .”

Next month join the First Parish Theater Project to read “Raisin in the Sun,” by Lorraine Hansberry. Alec Walker will be our leader for this wonderful script. Scripts can be obtained from the Concord Public Library or from Amazon.com. We will meet as usual at First Parish in Concord at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 5.

Sarasa Concert Presented by the Music Events Committee

The next Sarasa concert will be on Sunday, January 31, at 7 p.m. The concert will feature concertos by Vivaldi, Bach and Telemann. Ticket prices are $24 for general admission; $20 for seniors; $12 for students; children are free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at www.sarasamusic.org. The public is invited. Winter Cabaret at First Parish

All-Church SAC Event: Home Drop-Off Day, January 30

Volunteer to work or donate some goods. Clear out your clutter and recycle your items. All First Parish members (ages 5 years and up) are invited to volunteer for a shift between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. High schoolers, come earn community service hours! Collect items, spot-clean, sort, lift and load! Soup will be on and First Parish talent will sing us into action! Or donate items between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. We will have trucks here and strong backs to accept donations of larger and heavier household items (furniture, small appliances, mattresses, rugs), plus a drop-off area for smaller household items (pots and pans, kitchen items, linens) for Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts; and any items for ages 0-14 (clothing for all seasons, books, toys, baby equipment) for Cradles to Crayons. SAC Theater Project-“Still Life”

Actors, designers, stage managers and technicians are needed for the Social Action production of “Still Life,” by Emily Mann (performances April 9 and 10). An open casting call will be held Monday, January 25, at First Parish. We're looking for 3 men [age 28], 3 women [age 28] and 3 women [age 43]. Don't be concerned with any discrepancy between your age and that of the characters. That's why we call you “actors”! Copies of the play can be borrowed from the church office.
