Pledge*2010

Dear Parishioner:
Our First Parish community has weathered many challenges in recent years. Even in the face of the economic, personal, or physical hardships many of us have confronted, First Parish members have emerged as leaders at home and in the wider world. The creativity, generosity, and perseverance of our community are nothing short of astonishing.
This year’s Annual Appeal is designed to provide you with opportunities to get to know our community better, learn what each of us values about First Parish, and reaffirm your support for our church. Our pledge mailing this year contains a brochure, a colored piece of paper, and a pledge card:
- The Brochure contains specific information about pledging and illustrates how your pledge dollars are allocated.
- The What Do You Value? paper is for an art project we are creating as part of the Appeal process: please write what you value most about First Parish on this paper (your statement may be anonymous) and submit it along with your pledge. We will post all the papers we receive in the Parish Hall.
- The Pledge Card is your chance to transform your values into reality. As you reflect on what you value, please remember that pledges fund over 75% of programs and operations at First Parish.
If you live in a neighborhood near other parishioners, we will also be collecting your pledge a little differently this year. Your letter will contain special instructions if you are located in one of these neighborhoods. We hope that you will take a minute and chat with your neighboring parishioner (however, you do not need to solicit your neighbor for a pledge).
The Annual Appeal is a wonderful time for each of us to connect with and celebrate what we treasure about First Parish. Thank you for joining us in this celebration!
Sincerely,
Tom Wilson and Pamela Hathaway
